Trinity chancel.tif | Via Lucis Photography.
We are lucky that there are some magnificent churches in our area – Old South Church and Trinity Church in Boston, Saint Stephen’s Episcopal Church and the Saint Peter and Paul Cathedral in Providence, among many others. Henry Hobson Richardson’s Trinity Church is one of our favorites, echoing as it does Saint Gilles du Gard and some our other favorite churches in France. This photo shows the scale of the chancel as captured by the Canon TS-E 17mm f/4L tilt-shift lens.
Beautiful!
Thanks, Tim. We’ve shot here a couple of times, but this was the first time with the 17mm tilt-shift. We’ll be back sometime this spring, most likely, and give it another shot. Might concentrate on the exterior this time, and perhaps try to get a good shot of the exterior of Old South Church, right up the street. That is a challenging task, given how wedged in it is among other buildings and next to the T station. Rick DuBoisson got a good shot there and that inspires me to try again.
