Some landmark numbers (Dennis Aubrey)

The month of July was a slow one for Via Lucis posts, but we did manage to achieve some landmarks. We have had over 50,000 visitors from 120 countries, 500 followers and 200 posts since we started. In terms of people, that means that we could have filled the opera house at the Kennedy Center over 23 times, which is pretty marvelous. We thank you all for your interest and commentary on our work. One of our great delights is to get real feedback from people on the photography and the writing from our tiny niche in this great wide world.

Kennedy Center Opera House

The web is an amazing place. And sometimes I feel like singing.

  1. Fiat lux!

and while you’re singing don’t forget the 10 second minimum reverberation time in some of these wondrous places you capture so well (I guess Pisa battistero is not Romanesque enough for you guys….)

    • Oh, John, I long to shoot the Pisa battistero!!! Not Romanesque enough? We just haven’t made it into England or Italy (and only barely into Spain). We’re thinking of a side trip to Ravenna soon, coupled with a return to the Provence and Pyrenees, but also a trip to the Camino Francés in Northern Spain. Too much wonderful subject matter for the two photographers!

  2. Heartiest congratulations, Dennis and PJ, on your HUGELY successful blog. It deserves to be one of the most read blogs on the Internet! I am thrilled for you!

  3. Congratulations, indeed! I keep sending my students over – we are in Thailand and your beautiful and instructive blog takes them on so many lovely journeys they would not be able to take otherwise. Keep up the good work.

  4. Dennis,
If you’re not already familiar YOU’VE GOT TO SEE THIS: go to Dailymotion, type in Extrait Maior Ecclesia 2010. Several videos of major interest….all you Via Lucisians should see these.
